FAQ

Where are portraits taken?

Together, we will come up with a location that is comfortable and beautiful. Portraits can be taken in your home or outside. Parks and beaches make great settings.

What should I wear?

My biggest suggestion is to wear something that you (or your child) feel comfortable in. Do try to avoid large logos or characters on your clothing.

Newborns - don't worry about clothing for a newborn. Most newborn clothing is ill-fitting anyway, we might as well do without it. A simple body-suit or just a diaper with a cute cover works just fine for me!

Children - comfort is key! Usually if you put a child in a stuffy dress or suit, it will be harder for them to act like themselves, wich is what we really want.

Families - You don't all need to wear the same color, but try not to let any one person stand out more than another. If you do want to wear the same color, choose either black or white tops. Jeans are always a good choice for bottoms.

Maternity - the more you show off of your belly (within your comfort level) the more your belly will be the center of attention. This is what maternity portraits are all about!

What do I need to do to prepare for a portrait session?

If the portraits are being done inside your home, you may need to move some furniture to create a better space or to get the best light. If the portraits are being done outside or at a seperate location, you won't need to prepare anything except your outfits.

How long will it take to get my portraits?

Expect 7-10 days before the images will be posted to the online gallery. This depends on how involved the session was. Some sessions are only one outfit and a few poses, others are multiple outfits, multiple poses and include more than one subject. Editing these sessions take extra time. From the time the images are posted and you make your order, you should have your order in about 2 weeks.

Do you have a studio?

No. The world is my studio. The reason for this is most people feel more comfortable in a location they have been before. I think people tend to tense up when they step into a studio. I strive to make people feel relaxed and at ease.
